NO PLASTIC MORE FUN
Every day millions of plastic cups, straws and bottles from restaurants, bars and nightclubs enter the sea.
The association Nereide together with Worldrise have come together to try and change this situation by working closely with small local businesses who are the main distributors and consumers of this type of single use plastic.
Objective:
Promote the reduction of plastic waste in the sea, through the backing of businesses .
How:
Create a network of business “Tarifa Plastic Free” who have promised to reduce, improve or eliminate totally single use plastic, substituting it for biodegradable or reusable options.

OUR MISSION
Create and promote a #TargetPlasticFree network involving local business committed to completely eliminating the use of disposable plastics by replacing them with more sustainable solutions, such as reusable or compostable materials

WHY DO WE FIGHT AGAINST PLASTIC?
Marine plastic pollution is a serious problem that threatens the health of the planet and the majority of its inhabitants, including humans. The origin is in the irresponsible use and abuse of this material in our society.
In our cities, thousands of glasses, straws and plastic bottles are thrown away every day, coming mainly from bars, restaurants and other businesses. This trend, in addition to increasing pollution and the consequences it has in terrestrial and marine ecosystems, has a great impact on the costs of waste disposal.
To alleviate the problem, it is necessary to take measures at a local level that complement the national and European strategy, and act individually as agent of change.
